History

Waterways Dog Park, nestled within Aventura’s waterways, offers a unique blend of recreation and history.

Established in 2003, the park began as part of the Aventura City of Excellence School (ACES), a K-8 charter school operated by Charter Schools USA.

This location held a significant place in 1988, serving as the site for Hart’s presidential campaign conclusion.

Later, in 2001, former President Bill Clinton delivered one of his early speeches at the adjacent Turnberry Jewish Center.

The park’s design integrates recreational space with the surrounding environment, offering a place for dogs to exercise and socialize.

Located adjacent to the Aventura Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the US, it provides dog owners with convenient access to shopping and entertainment.

The park is also planned to be served by Brightline and Tri-Rail commuter rail, highlighting its accessibility and integration within Aventura’s transportation network.
