Entry & Hours:

The dog park is open daily from 8: 00 AM to Sunset. Check the City of San Francisco’s website for specific closure times due to weather or events.

Entry Requirements & Fees:

A valid City of San Francisco dog registration is required. Proof of rabies vaccination is also mandatory. There is a small fee of $5.00 per day, payable at the Alta Plaza Park entrance.

Park Layout & Features:

The dog park is divided into two sections: a large, fenced area and a smaller, off-leash area. Both areas offer grassy surfaces for running and playing. The park features shade trees and water fountains for dogs and their owners.

Rules & Regulations:

• Owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior at all times.

• Aggressive dogs are not permitted.

The idea gained traction through community outreach and petitions, ultimately leading to the city’s approval and subsequent development of the park’s dog zone.
