History

Browns Island Regional Park offers a unique, natural setting for dog owners in California.

Originally envisioned as a housing development – plans dated back to 2007 with a target opening in 2010, then pushed to 2012, and finally opening in Spring 2016 – the project was ultimately abandoned due to the 2008 real estate market collapse.

This 1,900-acre property, now managed by the EBRPD, features a mix of laurels, oaks, and native grasses and is home to diverse wildlife including mountain lions, coyotes, deer, and hawks.

The park’s acquisition continues with parcels like the Roddy and Dainty Ranch, which connect to Black Diamond Mines Regional Park and Marsh Creek, creating a continuous undeveloped land zone.

While a dedicated dog park area isn’t formally established, the park's expansive natural landscape provides space for dogs to explore and play.

Currently, operating hours and contact information aren’t available.
